Integra Type-R CRV Hybrid
Welcome to Rich's B20b conversion.
I'll give everyone a little background on why I decided to swap my B18c5 block for the B20b. About 2 years ago I had my Comptech muffler refitted with a dual DTM tip because I wasn't real fond of the 4" round resonated tip that they were offering at the time. A little over a year ago I noticed that I was getting a black soot type buildup on my bumper just above my exhaust tip. I figured that my car was running a little rich and it wasn't much to worry about. Well, about 3 months ago I put the supercharger on and also swapped out the muffler for a new one with the now current design of a 3.5" angle cut tip. While dynoing the car after the charger I noticed an increasing amount of bluish smoke after each successive run. The car only made about 12 or so runs and I got to take it home for the first weekend. After the weekend I got the car back to the shop and check the oil. Needless to say it was almost void of oil. After analyzing the problems we narrowed it down to one or more bad piston rings. At this point I was in need of pulling the motor and rebuilding the bottom end. Fortunately a friend at work had a spare CRV short block. This started the designing of my Type-R/CRV block conversion.

These are custom JE Pistons built for a compression of 9:1 for my blown application.

JE wrist Pins....that's all, nuthin fancy.

These are GSR length Crower rods.

I decided to go with standard Honda CRV rings because of their excellent strength, low cost and availability.
Much, Much more to come...
